The years go by so fast it is hard to realize, but the Sewing Connection is almost 20 years old! We have decided that 2010 will be the perfect time to retire. I will present seminars thru December of 2010 so if you would like to host an event, call and schedule now. In January and into February, we have seminars in the sun belt. When we are in any given area, it saves you $$ as we connect several events to reduce and sometimes eliminate travel expenses to the host. Take advantage of this benefit and it hold for spring, summer and fall in other areas of the country. We have books, patterns, and DVDs available until they are gone. I will continue to help in any way I can, the industry at large and anyone who has questions concerning our educational products. Ask your local libraries and schools to call us for information about offering their customers Sewing Connection materials. Ask your local retailer to stock the patterns, books, and DVDs. Ask your local PBS station of they are interested in airing any of the programs. SALE Books: $40 including s/h for remaining television books (1 and 14 retired) Books: each series book contains the 13 projects from the television series of that title. You save $195 by purchasing copies of the remaining books. Videos: call for inventory - $20 including s/h for individual series titles each series title contains the 13 half hour segments as shown on television. We will not be printing any more VHS tapes. DVDs: $35 including s/h for each series title which contain the 13 half hour segments as shown on television. Patterns: Half price for all Alternatives instruction packages 301 320, 401 420, 500 series which includes 501 and 502 is $25. We will not be reprinting any patterns. As they are depleted from inventory, they will be retired. After completing the 221 shows of The Sewing Connection, I had planned to retire then. Didnt happen. Deluged with calls for what commercial pattern I wore on this show or that, I had to admit almost none were commercial. I realized a marvelous reality from this: there are really only 3 garments and everything is a style change from that base. 300 Set-In Sleeves which can be made into coats, jackets, dresses, blouses. This is the 300 Master Pattern which includes 31 tissue paper pattern pieces in 6 sizes, XS to 2X, all printed in each pattern. Front, back, sleeve plus many different style lines (interchangeable overlaps), collars, pockets, facings, etc. All are labeled for identification, but there are no instructions for creating the garment within the master (except for bust alterations for size). Hence the name Alternatives. Purchase the Master and add to that any style envelope within that line. The instructions and even more pieces are in that numbered style envelope. The countless Alternatives are illustrated or photographed on the front of each style envelope, in this case 301- 320, and contain instructions for making the garment illustrated. Some contain additional patern pieces to create the pictured style new features occur all the time. This method allows you to choose which style you love, not conform your taste to someone elses choices. Look through expensive ready-to-wear and realize that these fashions can be duplicated within this set of styles. The 300 Master Pattern is $12. You alter it once to fit you perfectly then use it over and over with any further pattern changes needed. Just keep using different pieces from it for the multitude of different garments. The Alternatives 301- 320 are now just $6 each half off the original price. 400 Drop-Shoulder Master Pattern, $12, converts to raglan, dolman, kimono, and so many more. Turn your pattern into coats, dresses, jackets, blouses, vests. They are easier to construct, provide a more casual fit, and offer a canvas for your decorative embellishments. 39 tissue patter pieces all interchange, working just like the 300. 401 420 Alternative Style instruction envelopes are half price each, $6. 500 Master Pattern for shells and skirts or combine for a dress. 501 has instructions for 27 different embellishments that can be performed on any machine. 502 has instructions for structural changes plus 15 extra pattern pieces. All 3 for $25, saving $11. |
